Ed Sheeran Reveals His Favorite Hip-Hop Albums in GOAT Talk Interview
Ed Sheeran has never hidden his admiration for Hip-Hop, and in a recent interview, he gave fans a deeper look into the rap albums that have made a lasting impression on him. While appearing on GOAT Talk alongside actor Barry Keoghan, the British singer-songwriter shared some of his all-time favorite records from Hip-Hop’s elite.
“I love that whole world,” Sheeran said. “You’ve got Get Rich or Die Tryin’, The Documentary by The Game, and The Marshall Mathers LP. I could listen to any of those in any situation. 2001 by Dr. Dre is another classic I always go back to.”
When Keoghan mentioned Get Rich or Die Tryin’ as his personal favorite, Sheeran lit up, revealing just how deep his appreciation for 50 Cent runs.
“I was actually listening to that with my dad the other day,” he recalled. “We were in Italy, I was shirtless with a beer in hand, explaining to him how brilliant ‘If I Can’t’ is—because it doesn’t even have a full eight-bar chorus,” he laughed.

Sheeran has also consistently expressed his admiration for Eminem throughout his career. The British artist has opened up about how rapping along to The Marshall Mathers LP as a child played a key role in helping him overcome his stutter.“By learning that record, and rapping it back to back to back to back, it cured my stutter,” he previously said in an interview with Howard Stern. Sheeran has also collaborated with the Detroit icon on three songs and has shared the stage with him in his city where he performed his hit song “Lose Yourself”
